Personal Rights and Data Protection
Advice
Personal rights include physical, psychological and social protected areas of a person and the advice we offer on a daily basis places great importance specifically on the right to one's own name and image (photograph, Internet, TV, advertising etc.), to one's own voice and written word and the right to privacy and the protection of one's honour under civil and criminal law. In addition to natural persons and legal entities whose personal rights are affected e.g. by the media, the Internet or other third party measures, we also advise media professionals, advertising and PR agencies, contracting entities and actors and models who have questions relating to personal rights and data protection.
Contractual Matters
We assist advertising and media agencies, contracting entities, photographers, film producers, actors and other performers and persons who require legal solutions in connection with the entitlement to personal rights in Switzerland and abroad.
Legal Disputes
Where there has been an infringement of personal rights, we defend our clients before the civil and criminal courts, the Press Council and the Competition Commission. In connection with the Internet, social media, search engines and electronic archives and databases, we are increasingly faced with cases which contravene the personal rights of the individual and the data protection act. Because such acts of infringement in these new media and platforms are in each case permanent, can be shared electronically and are also electronically archived, a rapid and targeted campaign of action is recommended.
